Corey Volpi graduated from Spring Arbor University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 1996. He is also a graduate of Western Michigan University, where he earned his Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology in 1999. He began providing mental health services in 1996, before becoming a licensed therapist in 1999. Anticipating earning his Masters of Arts degree, he opened Freedom Counseling Center with Tim McVay in 1998.
Corey works with individuals, couples and families of all ages and has vast experience working with various issues, some of which include the following: anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, eating disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, severe mental illness, dissociative disorders, family dynamic issues, couple and marital difficulties, and helping his clientele with general life issues and adjustments. Corey utilizes a variety of treatment modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Somatic Experiencing. His clientele often express an appreciation for the candid yet thorough way in which he approaches the therapeutic process.
In his spare time, Corey enjoys reading, working out, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
