Jennifer Kovach

In 2000, Jennifer graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University.  As part of her counseling program, she also earned a Graduate Certificate in Holistic Health.

Jennifer has been a Limited License Psychologist for over 20 years. She began her career working in various counseling roles in the community, eventually making a shift into Nursing.  She has been a Licensed Practical Nurse since 2013.  She very much enjoys Nursing as a profession but has always sought to merge her counseling skills with some degree of medical knowledge and experience. This combination enables her to apply a holistic approach to mental health that encompasses mind, body, and spirit.

Jennifer’s approach is client centered and client guided.  She uses a wide variety of counseling techniques including Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness Based, Interpersonal,  Psychodynamic, and others.  She has a particular interest in the field of Positive Psychology. This model in psychology focuses on increasing well-being through the experience of positive emotions and relationships, gratitude, and compassion.  Her areas of knowledge and experience include  working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, caregiver stress (both personal or professional), grief and loss, chronic pain/illness, and personal change and growth.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends.   She has five furballs that wander her home that are in constant need of care and affection.  She also enjoys reading, attending arts and crafts shows, and an occasional nature walk.
